Whether he's part of the family or your best friend, there's no need to leave your dog in kennels when you come to Bossington Hall for your large group stay - well behaved canines are welcome, and boy oh boy, what a super time he's going to have, with 6 acres of grounds to run around in and heaps more to explore right on the doorstep! From the private lane leading to Bossington Hall there's access to acres of woodland on the surrounding Holnicote Estate (NT), and you'll find plenty of little footpaths and bridleways to walk as they criss-cross the neighbouring countryside and beyond. If you're an early riser, you and your pet pooch can stroll up to Lynch Mill and bring back fresh free range eggs for breakfast; or you can stroll to Allerford (5 minutes), Bossington (5 minutes), or Porlock (15 minutes), all charming, chocolate boxey, little villages. Equally close is the sea where your furry friend can have a paddle on the beach just down the road at Bossington, Porlock Weir, Dunster Beach or just a little further along the coast, at Kilve.
Head up onto the wild heaths of Exmoor and spend the day roving, but be sure to allow time for a visit to one of the dog friendly country pubs, or if the weather is good, to a quaint tea shop where you can sit in the garden and debate whether it's jam or cream first on your scones. Climb to the top of Dunkery Beacon with your fourlegged friend - this is the highest point on Exmoor so you'll have an awesome view from the summit. Go and cross the ancient clapper bridge at Tarr Steps and stroll along the river, stroll up the cliff through the woods to Culbone Church, or explore the Doone Valley. It'll be the easiest dog friendly holiday ever!
