At Sleeps12 we appreciate that dogs are part of the family, and it can be heart wrenching to leave your furry friend in kennels when you go on holiday. Well, the good news is that Beaverbrook 20 welcomes well behaved dogs, so bring your pet along and he can join in the fun too. He's going to have the time of his life - Beaverbrook 20 is tucked away in a tiny hamlet surrounded by miles and miles of glorious countryside, with a plethora of footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes just waiting to be explored. Right on your doorstep is a delightful walk through the fields to the village of Dowlish Wake where you can take in the pretty cottages, sample some traditional Somerset cider, and enjoy a laid back pub lunch at the New Inn. Within a ten minute drive are the beautiful gardens at Forde Abbey and they allow dogs in the grounds; wander through the arboretum, around the bog garden, and see the 160ft high Centenary Fountain. Just a few miles away on the edge of Chard there's a circular walk around a peaceful reservoir, or in Ilminster you can up the across the fields for a stroll around Herne Hill - though watch out for the badger setts! If you venture a little further into the beautiful Blackdown Hills you'll find designated walks at Staple Hill, Castle Neroche or Otterhead Lakes - all great picnic spots. Go out onto the mystical Somerset Levels and climb to the ruined chapel at the top of Burrow Mump at Burrowbridge, or walk along the banks of the River Tone, and have a well deserved pint at the King Alfred Inn afterwards. It's only about half an hour to the Jurassic Coast, where there are several dog friendly beaches where your mutt can have a paddle - Axmouth harbour beach has no restrictions and there are allocated dog walking areas at Seaton, Charmouth and Lyme Regis. No excuse for you or your pooch to miss out on a bit of exercise!
