At Sleeps12 we appreciate that dogs are part of the family, and it can be heart wrenching to leave your furry friend in kennels when you go on holiday. Well, the good news is that Beaverbrook 20 welcomes well behaved dogs, so bring your pet along and he can join in the fun too. He's going to have the time of his life - Beaverbrook 20 is tucked away in a tiny hamlet surrounded by miles and miles of glorious countryside, with a plethora of footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes just waiting to be explored. Right on your doorstep is a delightful walk through the fields to the village of Dowlish Wake where you can take in the pretty cottages, sample some traditional Somerset cider, and enjoy a laid back pub lunch at the New Inn. Within a ten minute drive are the beautiful gardens at Forde Abbey and they allow dogs in the grounds where you can wander through the arboretum or round the Japanese Garden; if you go just a few miles to the market town of Chard you'll find a circular walk around a peaceful reservoir, or in Ilminster you can head up a track on a historic country estate and be in the fields within minutes, with a view that stretches for miles. Venture a little further, into the beautiful Blackdown Hills where you can walk around the tracks at Staple Hill, Castle Neroche or Otterhead Lakes, or go out onto the mystical Somerset Levels and climb to the ruined chapel at the top of Burrow Mump at Burrowbridge, or walk along the banks of the River Tone, and have a well deserved pint at the King Alfred Inn afterwards. It's only about half an hour to the East Devon and West Dorset coasts, with several dog friendly beaches where your mutt can have a paddle - though bear in mind that there may be seasonal restrictions. Axmouth beach is good for dog walking, and allocated areas at Charmouth and Lyme Regis.
