Coombe Farm Organic, Roundham, Crewkerne, Somerset
The first thing you should know about Coombe Farm Organic is that if you’re organised you can go on their website and order an array of top-notch local food to be delivered to your Sleeps12 large group holiday house for your arrival.
The second thing you should know is that Coombe Farm is a place you really should visit whilst you’re on your group stay in Somerset. They have a dairy farm and meat farm tucked away in a beautiful valley near the Dorset border; the field to fork ethic is strong with an on-site butchery and dairy, and a gem of a farm shop and café. Treat yourselves to local champagne, cakes, cider brandy, organic wines, cereals, and so on – there’s a plethora of goodies that’ll have your tastebuds dancing with delight. Even apple juice and four types of artsian beer made on site, and of course, the meat. Beef, lamb, pork, chicken and venison all raised on Somerset soils without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilisers.
Have a bite to eat in the café or hire it out if you’re celebrating a milestone birthday whilst you’re down this way; otherwise let the team come to you, or have a little bash in the woods round the corner where plans are afoot to make a clearing for feasting – they’ll do the catering for you whether you want a hog roast, barbecue, paninis, a picnic, or cocktails and canapes.
And there’s more! You can book for clay pigeon shooting tuition with a qualified instructor, you can fish on the lakes, and you can have a Farm Tour for up to 18 people, which is a great way to enjoy the spectacular countryside and find out more about where your food comes from.
Get planning, make sure Coombe Farm Organic is on your holiday itinerary.
