You’ll find culinary influences from around the globe on the menu at A Slice of Lyme in the little Devon seaside town of Budleigh Salterton. Service is the smiley, friendly type, the atmos is relaxed, and the food is delicious, so there’s nothing not to like about this bistro style café and restaurant. Go for an all day breakfast, a light lunch, a proper job Devon cream tea, or for a three course dinner in the evening.
Fresh local fish is definitely a thing here, as is a well chosen wine list that includes one form a Devon vineyard, and they serve some very refreshing local ciders. Lighter bites include omelettes, baked potatoes, sandwiches and paninis, mains from the evening menu feature dishes like Fresh Exe mussels in a cream, white wine & garlic sauce, Goan fish curry, Moroccan lamb tagine and Malaysian chicken with aromatic spice, as well as steaks and burgers and tempting vegetarian options. Group bookings aren’t a problem, and there’s a menu for younger folk.
