The pool table was well used great multiple homes from home & great team to keep it all going - thank you will definitely recommend it. - Nallen.

Excellent we had a lovely family celebration.

10/10 - A perfect house for our party aged 3-75. Extremely comfortable beds with a choice of configuration in all bedrooms. En suite provision was excellent. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Two dishwashers and fridges are a real bonus. There was plenty of space to cook, chat and eat together. The double utility area allowed plenty of space to store muddy boots, coats and extra items.
The outside space was magnificent, with a playhouse, play area, well-laid flagged paths, lawned area, heated gazebo and undercover barbecue area. We were fortunate with the weather and made good use of all the garden offered. Excellent car parking area with plenty of space. Gated property afforded a safe environment for youngsters. The heated indoor pool was, of course, a great success.
Stone Cottage is finished to a high standard throughout. A power cut caused a problem with the water heating, which was resolved within minutes. We really appreciated the comprehensive information we were sent that was easy to disseminate to all members of our party.
A great week away. Thank you. -
Plant

10/10 - Beautiful house kept spotlessly clean and brilliantly organised by the warm and welcoming Kay and her family. Fantastic pool table which kept my children occupied for hours. Stunning pool and such a treat when it was raining. Beautifully kept garden which was 100 per cent enclosed for the dog. Comfy beds throughout. Loved the boot room, utility room set up. Thank you so much for having us, Kay! - Stapely

10/10 - Loved the house with all its great amenities, well stocked for all food preparation needs. Especially loved the swimming pool and the outside enclosed and heated mini pavillion where we all huddled for a late night drink. Outside lights were a lovely touch. Every room clean and tidy we really enjoyed the cottage and our stay, strongly recommend it. - Rose

10/10 - Family group of mixed ages, the property worked out perfectly for us, we only left the property once as so much to do with the wonderful swimming pool & pool table. Hired a private chef for one night and it really felt like a party. - Walshaw

10/10 - We had a brilliant Christmas here spending time with family. Facilities such as swimming pool and pool table were excellent. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. - Cunningham

10/10 - The space, peace and very quiet. Great area for badminton and croquet plus mini football for toddlers. The area fenced off for the swings, slide and trampoline was great, our grandson loved bouncing everyday. The house itself is very spacious, clean and comfortable. Beds comfy tho pillows abit flat, I'll be taking my own next time. Could also do with a clock in the pool house and in the kitchen/dinning area. Small grumbles, it won't stop us going again, already booked for next year. - Davidson

9/10 - The house was very secluded and totally safe for children as the garden was completely enclosed with large gates. It was thoughtfully designed with lots of home comforts. The pool house was a massive hit with everyone and the pavilion was the best place to enjoy an evening get together. The only negative comment was from some of the party who thought their beds were a little uncomfortable. - Fuller

10/10 - We had a wonderful week at Whitehaven. Steve the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The house was like a 5 star hotel - perfectly equipped for a large party and with all those little touches that most places are lacking. Plenty of plastic dishes for outdoor eating and drinking, pots and pans galore and a great easy to operate range in the kitchen. The pool was perfect for all ages, the outdoor facilities were superb, loved the entertaining hut and the barbecue area was an added bonus. Children had loads of room to run around and explore without getting into too much trouble, loads of space for scooters and bikes to ride around and the trampoline swings and slide were well used. We were blessed with perfect weather so barely left the property all week - didnt need to. It was like home from home. Loved the local area for early evening walks. Could have done with another week.- Kehoe

10/10 - Absolutely loved the pool and kids area. - Wisher

10/10 - The house was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed for adults and children, very safe garden. We would definitely book this property again and maybe for a week so we can explore the area. - Fabian

10/10 - We have spent the most glorious week at this amazing house. We could not have been more pleased with the facilities and the level of comfort. The pool is lovely and warm and a great size. The full size pool table gave us endless fun as did the table football. Didn’t realise I was so talented at table football. The heated gazebo is really handy this time of year. The play area and trampoline are great too and were well used by Ava and Frankie not to mention the rest of us 🥳. The kitchen was a dream with everything you could need. Everything you could want to do easily fitted at least 12 people. The location is peaceful and beautiful. Literally on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Sheep roaming around right outside the gate all the time. Recommend a visit to the George at St Briavels, the Sculpture Trail, the Cock Inn, the Globe and the Miners Arms. Super!!! - Tomlin

10/10 - Kay, whose family own the property was there to greet us an explain about the property, she left her number in case we needed her during our stay and she was there at our leaving to check on any problems and asked us personally if anything could have been done it improve our stay...great service. Perhaps the one thing we could have mentioned and didn't, (it didn't spoil our enjoyment) is investing in a new BBQ, a gas one would be great. However, the one on hand is perfectly useable just old. We had a great few days in Whitehaven. - Wright

10/10 - The house was perfect. We can recommend Symonds Yat Rock, the walk down to Symonds Yat, canoeing on the River Wye and lunch at the Saracens Head. - Campbell

9/10 - Swimming pool was great for all the family, plenty of outside space. A great house for family get togethers. Puzzlewood was good fun for younger children. - Donohue

10/10 - As lockdown is slowly being lifted we didn't go out much. The house was fully kitted out with everything we needed to be self sufficient. A great holiday. We can recommend Go Ape. - Mansfield

9/10 - The property was lovely and we all had a great time. Plenty of walks in Forest of Dean and the Wye river. - Martin

10/10 - The pool was great and plenty of facilities in the accommodation the kitchen was stocked up with everything required and the king size bedroom was awesome...maybe a dartboard instead of table football would have suited us better. We used this accommodation for our base as we attend the Cheltenham Festival for the week and it was perfect only a 45minute taxi ride to the track but in a nice secluded spot in a quite area. - Cousins

10/10 - The House and garden was amazing and we all loved the pool. The children really enjoyed the garden play facilities too. We had a great stay. - Piearce

8/10 - Whitehaven is quite nice to stay but there are something can be done to improve the place. 1) Internet wasn’t very good.  2) There can be shower room and hot tub in the pool 3) some shower rooms are not draining waters very well. - Gunaydin

8/10 - The house was spacious and comfortable with lots of facilities, although the structure of the pool house and some of the kitchen appliances were a little tired and needed a bit of updating. - Hughes

10/10 - The house and pool were fantastic. Super clean and tidy and high quality facilities. The kids play area is a little unsecure and loose and kids needed constant supervision whilst playing. Also owners came in every morning to check the pool which is nice to know they care and take pride in it but also a little annoying. - Gilbert

10/10 - Everything was just perfect, thank you. - Irving

10/10 - Really lovely place to stay. We had everything we needed for all the age ranges that came on the holiday. The house and grounds were spotless and everything worked as it should. The owners were friendly popping in to check the pool each morning. Splendid place to relax whilst the kids play in the pool and trampoline. - Stiles

10/10 - I don't think the experience could have been improved. It was the perfect house for a family get together, with 6 adults and 6 children. Very close to walking in the Forest of Dean. The property was so good for children with plenty of garden space, an indoor pool, and a pool table (which was in constant use) that we didn't go out much. Puzzlewood was thoroughly enjoyed by the 9 and 6 year olds. Also Go Ape nearby was enjoyed by the older children. - Drinkwater

10/10 - We all, particularly the children, loved the pool. The heated gazebo was great for a barbeque lunch and celebratory drinks. Kay and her father gave us a very good welcome on arrival. Everything about the kitchen/dining area was great for a big group. Various little touches around the house eg dressing gowns, hand wash, tissues in all rooms made it feel special. - Routley

10/10 - The house is great. Symonds Yat, Go Ape, Crazy golf, with free table tennis pool, air hockey and great milk shakes. This is at the Taurus Craft Centre. Cycle trails, and for great fun, Sunday evening bingo at 7-15 The Nags Head . One of the most friendly pubs we have been in. Kids loved it and we won £30. - Harvey

10/10 - Loved the house, spacious, clean and modern. Super area of the country. Need to check that all showers are working at their peak - the one in our room was a bit pathetic, even after the owner had looked at it. We visited Symonds Yat Rock and Lydney Railway. - Lennox

9/10 - Beautiful house, very clean & well equipped. Perfect swimming pool. - Wakefield

9/10 - We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool. The house was very well equipped with crockery, glasses etc and it was useful to have 2 dishwashers and fridges. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable. The utility room had hooks for coats and a rack for boots but it would have been useful to have had more provision for drying wet clothes and towels. Swimming things dried if hung up in the pool area. We visited the Steam train on Dean Forest Railway from Parkend to Lydney Junction, walk down to Lydney Harbour and along the Severn Estuary before walking back to get a return train. Visit Symonds Yat. Plenty of walks in the Forest. - Douglas

9/10 - The lounge area wasn’t big enough to seat 12 adults but apart from that it is perfect. Horse riding with Severnvale. - Dunderdale

10/10 - Thoughtful touches such as milk for a cup of tea, items left out for the dog which were unexpected but very welcome. Some of the tele's in the bedrooms were not working and we could not find the remotes for the 2 downstairs TVs but this was a minor irritation and did not detract from the fabulous holiday we had. - Clark

Response: "All the TV's are operated from the SKY remotes which are all in full working order, this is all explained during the introducton at the beginning of the stay." - Owner

9/10 - All facilities as promised in blurb, excellent and spotless, swim pool very popular and always felt clean. Pool table very popular. Thank you for providing such a comfortable, very well equipped holiday home. Only problem: We struggled to set oven temperatures, markings rubbed off. We wonder why you do not offer waterproof sheets to be ordered alongside child bed rails. Ikea do a splendid, comfortable fitted one. It means less risk for you and that we wouldn't have to strip beds to fit own sheets when first arriving, esp late at night. - Kazer

Response: "Whitehaven has waterproof mattress protectors on all its mattresses." - Owner

The pool table & football table were enjoyed by all. The child’s play area was a favourite of the younger members, the pool was lovely & warm, used constantly all weekend by all of our family.
