Fully renovated and refurbished in 2007, it makes a relaxing home for two or three families wishing to holiday together or the ideal property for celebrations. Hemyock - formerly known in the Domesday Book as Hamock - is located near the Devon/Somerset border, just south of Wellington and on the Blackdown Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Blackdowns (visit www.blackdown-hills.net for up to date events) have many delightful footpaths, bridleways, lanes and tracks, providing superb country walking, cycling and horse riding, quaint villages with local pubs for wining and dining and a variety of attractions to enjoy ranging from go-karting, ballooning and gliding to golf and fishing. Situated within easy driving distance off the M5, there is a diverse range of attractions to visit, such as Killerton House and Gardens, the cathedral city of Exeter, Diggerland, Crealy Adventure Park, Go-Ape and Forde Abbey and Gardens. Alternatively a day out exploring the East Devon Heritage Coastal resorts from the picturesque Lyme Regis to Exmouth, is easily accessible, and for the surfers the North Devon beaches are within an hour's drive. The famous lace and antique town of Honiton, Dartmoor and Exmoor are all worth a visit. Village Pub and shops within 5 minutes walking distance.
