High up on the hills of Exmoor, Wimbleball Lake will appeal to nature lovers and adventurous types alike. Explore the nature trails and bike tracks, go and see the waters cascading over the humongous dam; you’ll find big open spaces where children can run wild and let off steam, a play area, woodlands to build dens in, trees to climb, and countless walks for dogs. Have a go on the high ropes or test your target skills at archery; take to the waters for kayaking, boating, kneeboarding, windsurfing, and raft building. There’s a shop, shower and toilets, and for refreshments go to the quirky Duck Café for delicious home cooked food and eat whilst you admire the gorgeous scenery.
Wimbleball Lake is a Dark Skies Reserve so if you go at night, providing it’s clear you’ll have a sky full of stars to look at; hire a telescope and pick out the constellations.
