Watersmeet, Exmoor, Devon
This Exmoor beauty spot is where the East Lyn River and the Hoar Oak Water meet. It’s stunning; a deep gorge with ancient woodlands and walks along the river bank. The former fishing lodge was converted to a tea garden in 1901 and is now owned by the National Trust; you can sit there and watch the waters rushing over the rocks.
Watersmeet is 1.8 miles from Lynmouth; there is a car park for visitors, and the tea shop is open from 10.30am to 5.00pm every day from Easter to the end of October, and at weekends and half term in February.
