The Blue Ball Inn, Sampford Moor, Somerset

The owners have given this country pub a contemporary flair; it’s pub food with their own twist; the local steaks are popular as are the butchers sausages and the seafood catch of the day. For vegetarians, the fig & goats cheese tart with purple basil jam, toasted walnuts and a panache of vegetables sounds rather nice, as does the oyster mushroom and champagne risotto.
