Stoke St Gregory, Somerset

A traditional village out on the Somerset Levels; there are two churches, two pubs (the Royal Oak in the village centre, the Rose & Crown half a mile away), and a village shop stocked full with local produce. Basket making used to be a dominant industry in this area; if you visit the Willows & Wetlands Visitors Centre you’ll see withies growing and you can buy a hand crafted basket, and have a slice of home made cake in the tea shop. The moors around Stoke St Gregory are rich in wildlife and have SSSI status; the county town of Taunton is just 7 miles away.
