Brixham, Devon

This busy fishing port on the South Devon coast retains a notable old fashioned charm and has earned quite a reputation for arts and culture. One of its biggest attractions is the replica of Sir Francis Drakes flagship, the Golden Hind, where you can explore the Tudor maritime history over five decks. You can browse in the museum, stroll around the harbour, or take a coastal tour or a fishing trip. Award winning Breakwater Beach is great for scuba diving, and just along the coast is the rock and shingle Shoalstone Beach (dogs welcome all year); Brixham also boasts a 53 metre outdoor sea water swimming pool on the sea front.
