Take a jaunt to Sheppy's Cider at Bradford-on-Tone where the Sheppy family have been making Somerset cider since 1917 and have a history going back over 200 years. This fine art has been passed down through six generations, with home grown apples being turned into award winning drinks. Go and have a tasting session, stroll through the orchards, an absolute picture when the trees are in blossom in the spring. Take a tour, visit the Rural Life Museum and enjoy lunch in the Apple Bay Bar & Restaurant. Stock up with local produce in the shop and be sure to take some of that proper job cider home with you. If you're fortunate enough to be on your Sleeps12 holiday in Somerset the first weekend in September you can catch the annual Sheppy Fest, a great day celebrating all things cider with live music, food and drink.
