Martock

Right on the edge of the Somerset Levels, Martock is a big village with a big heart. A vibrant, friendly community with shops, a library, art gallery, vet, opticians, doctors surgery, and pharmacy.  If you’re strolling about this attractive hamstone village pop into the parish church and have a look at the carved tie beam roof in the nave; Browse around the architectural salvage yard, visit the Treasurer’s House (NT) and go wildlife spotting at Town Tree Nature Garden. If you fancy exploring, there are almost 40 footpaths in and around Martock, and it’s on the River Parrett Trail, stretching from the Dorset Hills to the Bristol Channel. There are a several traditional pubs and friendly cafes dotted about the village should you come over a little peckish.
