Lynton, Devon

Set amidst the gorgeous scenery of the Exmoor coast, Lynton is affectionately known as ‘Little Switzerland’ – due to its setting high up on the clifftop above the pretty harbour village of Lynmouth. The two are connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Railway and by steep pedestrian paths. The town has a rather lovely church, a museum, several shops, hotels and tea shops, and some quaint houses. To stroll through the streets on a bright day is a pleasure – whilst you’re here don’t miss a short stroll to the spectacular Valley of the Rocks or to the beautiful Watersmeet gorge.
