Dawlish, Devon

Head to Dawlish on the South Devon coast for some good old fashioned bucket and spade fun; this is a great one for traditional seaside escapades. The long sandy beach is perfect for building sandcastles and exploring the rock pools, and if you take a stroll around the town you’ll find a variety of little shops and places to eat, or you can watch black swans on the brook that runs through the wide open Lawn.  Forest Fungi/The Farm Shop has a good reputation for food; as does Jack Sprat’s little bistro/café, or for afternoon tea try Daisy’s Tea Room.

One beach zone has no dog restrictions.
