East Devon Coast
The East Devon Coast stretches from the Dorset border at Lyme Regis to just past the county town of Exeter, taking in some spectacular scenery and fantastic beaches along the way, and forming part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. Visit the elegant Regency town of Sidmouth, or have a day on the sandy beaches at Exmouth. Take a ride on the tramway at Seaton, walk over the cliffs to Beer and onto idyllic Branscombe; stroll around the quiet streets and down to the beach at Budleigh Salterton, watch the world go by on the quayside at Topsham or from the harbour at Lympstone. Spend a couple of hours on a boat trip along the scenic Exe estuary, and make time for a bite to eat – try the Masons Arms at Branscombe, The Globe at Topsham, or Barrington Tea Garden in Sidmouth for a traditional Devon cream tea.
