The Bicknoller Inn is a proper country pub, easily found in the lovely little village of Bicknoller at the foot of the Quantock Hills. If you’re looking for somewhere to stop for lunch or dinner when you’re out and about on your large group holidays in Somerset, you won’t go wrong if you choose to come to what the locals call ‘The Bick’.
Inside is a mix of modern country charm and old and original features, like the ceiling beams, flagstone or wooden floors, and an inglenook fireplace where a wood-burner blazes to keep you toasty on colder days. When it’s warmer out, sit in the cobbled courtyard or out in the garden, have a game of boules while you wait for your lunch.
The food is all homemade, with ingredients sourced close to home wherever possible; the menu has pub classics and modern dishes with world influences. There are good choices for those who don’t eat meat, like Five Bean Chill and Mediterranean roasted vegetable lasagne, Tuesday night is Fish & Chip night (eat in or takeaway), Sunday is carvery day with a choice of 3 meats, seasonal veg and all the trimmings.
