Explore the Forest of Dean

The Forest of Dean is a perfect location for a weekend break with your extended family – there really is something for everyone no matter your age or ability.

Providing a varied terrain and beautiful scenery across a wide range of pretty villages, towns and forests – you really can find an activity to suit all tastes – biking, walking, canoeing, activity days, castles, eating, drinking, dog walking, segways, railways, shooting, arts and crafts, cookery lessons to name but a few.

The Forest of Dean boasts some fascinating areas of outstanding natural beauty and some very long standing history – indeed the Saxons designated the area as a “hunting” ground for Kings! With 20 million trees and bordered by the River Severn to the southeast and the River Wye to the southwest it has been an inspiration to many a writer including JJR Tolkien and JK Rowling.

Our properties Whitehaven and Viney Hill Country House have been lovingly renovated to a very high standard and are ideal for a multi-generational break whatever the weather. Both houses have enclosed heated swimming pools and either a BBQ hut or Pavilion for heated outdoor dining during the colder months.
