We have noticed a rise in the number of people wishing to take their dogs on holiday with them. A canine companion or two can be a great excuse to venture out and see what the areas surrounding holiday properties have to offer. Here at sleeps 12 we have a selection of properties that welcome dogs as well as their well behaved owners.
Viney Hill Country House - Gloucestershire
Sleeping 15 people plus 2 children this large house situated in Gloucestershire has the space and so much more to accommodate a large family and two dogs. Nestled close to the Forest of Dean you can be sure that you will find walks a plenty to keep everyone thoroughly exercised and fresh faced. After your long walk around the woods come back and take a dip in the lovely heated pool (humans only of course).
What more could you want than a property close to the sea and the moors for a holiday full of adventure? Welcoming a maximum of two dogs this property is ideal for a weekend away. Two bedrooms downstairs also provide good access for people with mobility difficulties and the open plan style of the kitchen, dining and living area allows everyone to be together as one. We recommend a trip to Exmoor to check out the stunning Tarr Steps as well as a wander around historic Dunster, you wont be disappointed.
The ever popular Flossy Brook allows a dog to visit and with its secluded and secure garden you can be safe in the knowledge that it will be secure outside. Stunningly decorated and maintained Flossy Brook is cosy and a really popular property for those looking to get away from it all. The local pub The Candlelight Inn welcomes dogs in the bar so they will have plenty of company!
Commanding a superior position in the valley Berry House welcomes two dogs. Conveniently there is what we in the office call the ‘back kitchen’ a room perfect for allowing the dogs time to dry off and be groomed before allowing them in the downstairs section of the house. Just be aware that there is often livestock in the surrounding fields so conscientious dog owners are preferred!
Allowing dogs into holiday houses is by arrangement with the owner of the property as there is a maximum number of dogs allowed in each of the properties so please do call the office to find out more. Respect of the property needs to be taken into account and we always ask that dogs remain downstairs, off all furniture and have clean paws and coats before being allowed into the property and they must be picked up after! There are charges for dogs so again do contact the office to speak to the team about this.
