Sleeps12 have the best of the best. We don’t accept normality. Luxury comes as standard!
Firstly, Jess and Ashley the owners of Sleeps12 hand pick every property, they work with the property owner to ensure that a property fits the look and feel of Sleeps12, they advise on the properties fittings to ensure that it appeals to a wide range of people and have even helped people design a purpose built house or barn conversion. They really are experts in their field.
Once a property is on our books we make sure that all houses are kept in a way that we expect. We encourage our owners to have their properties inspected by VisitEngland who grade the properties using a clear and specific set of rules. Our property owners are proud of the awards they achieve and so they should be! However we don’t just use a grading system to inspect our properties as we have our very own in house inspector. This means the properties are inspected at least 4 times a year. These visits are not planned and so the inspector gets a real feel for the property and how it is maintained. All areas of the property are inspected from the gardens to under the beds. Once an inspection is completed, a report is written and actions suggested that should be completed before the next visit.
Last week some of these visits were completed. Here is a little snippet of what happened on that visit:
It was a lovely Autumnal day in the depths of Somerset, leaves were falling and you could really see why people return to the West Country year after year. Visit one was to a property with stunning views. Upon arrival the inspector could see that the cleaning of the property ready for a changeover was underway and the owners present. Millitary efficiency from the cleaning team was evident and little notes placed upstairs to show the bedroom configurations. The gardener was present and in the process of sorting out some fresh mole hills on the lawn. Check of the decoration was completed and a long conversation with the owners to discuss an area of the house that was being totally redecorated and fitted out in the next few weeks. Overall the house was in a great condition and the inspector was reluctant to leave, she’d have been quite happy to grab a book from the extensive library and chill out!
The second property was a grand building that has been converted into a unique holiday property full of quirky design touches. It gives an air of being lord of the manor and again overlooking a beautiful valley. A totally different property to the last it speaks of a time of billiards and open fires, a glass of Champagne in the drawing room and parties on the terrace. Equipped with lovely touches such as a huge selection of board games and welly boots the inspector left with nostalgic feeling.
Onwards to a Georgian property with modern touches such as a biomass boiler which makes this large house really snug. Uniquely decorated it has a hotel quality about it. Discussions about creating a shop with local produce within the house would add a personal touch and the inspector looks forward to seeing how this works in future visits.
A short drive through some narrow lanes led the inspector to the final destination, two purpose built holiday lodges. Set within their own land these were busy properties with the cleaning teams in full flow and decorators in making a few adjustments to window frames. The property owner was showing some people around the property at the time and the inspector discussed the quality assurance process with the guests who believed that it was a great idea and they felt it added to the guarantee that Sleeps12 really do know what they are offering.
Finally back to the office to write up the visits and to give verbal feedback to owners Jess and Ashley before the reports are emailed to property owners.
